Hotel Construction Progress:
At the Hotel tower, exterior construction is continuing this month with the remainder of the cementitious paneling and brick at the south elevation. Most of the metal paneling has been installed at the accent lanterns as well as a large portion of the decorative cornices have been installed. All of the plank scaffolding has been removed on the building except at the Southeast corner. Work also continues this month on the porte cochere canopy at the main entry. Prep work has also begun at the outdoor terraces at level 3 and level 8 for railing installation, a screen wall, waterproofing, and built-in planters.

Concrete flatwork for the vehicular drop-off adjacent to the porte cochere is ongoing this month. Paving at the waterfront promenade continues as well with a concrete main walkway/fire lane and then accent pavers to complete the promenade. Sitework at the east roadway between the Hotel and the existing apartment building has been finished to complete this link to the waterfront.

Interior to the building, elevator cab and lobby finishes are moving forward with one of the service cars now operational. As the exterior man-lift starts to come down in the coming month, the interior elevator will be used for moving materials up the building. At the level 1 main kitchen and back of house support rooms; lighting, flooring and wall covering is currently being installed. Food service equipment has been going in steadily this month. The public restrooms for the three podium levels have tile complete with toilet partitions, fixtures, and lighting being installed currently along with tile proceeding in the pool and spa. Custom casework for the fitness room, spa treatment areas, and locker rooms is also being installed. At the meeting spaces on level 3, wall finishes are being installed which includes base board, wood wall paneling, fabric panels, and wall covering. In the main ballroom, the last of the ceiling coordination is complete with wall board going on now.

The guestroom floors continue interior finish construction going up the Tower. The lower guestroom floors have bathroom and entry tile complete along with fixtures, paint and wallcovering as well. Carpet is going in next while some of the suites also have wood flooring currently installed. The upper floors are not far behind this schedule with carpet and final paint to follow prior to furniture install commencing in early spring.

Office Construction Progress:
The elevated concrete decks for the parking structure at Tower’s 1 and 2 south continue this month. Levels P0 through P5 are complete for the south portion (phase 1) of Building Tower 1 and Building Tower 2. Level P6 will begin forming and starts its phased pours by the end of February. The precast panels continue to be installed along the south elevation of the garage along with interior CMU wall buildout of the service and electrical rooms. At Tower3, pile caps and underground plumbing are ongoing in preparation for the slab on grade. The slab on grade has been poured for the north half of Tower’s 1 and 2 in anticipation of starting these elevated decks when P6 at the south portion is complete. Rough in for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing for the garage continues and will be up to P3 by end of the month.

The Johns Creek bridge install is nearing completion. This month final road paving and landscape will be installed with the bridge railing to be completed for the balance of this work by end of March.
